ERBL: The Seduction of Tamara Ward Johnson

In the past, we’ve been doing an overview of ERBL’s activities and friends over the past few years, including a breakdown of both Mickey’s stage-front persona as well as Gerry’s multiple back-channel contacts with a great diversity of folks in the lunatic right Recently, we’ve had the opportunity to look in as ERBL has actually infiltrated and take over someone’s web page; effectively destroying her political career in their quest for wider publicity and more members. Right now, TWJ is still of use to ERBL, so they’re playing her hard. However – as other “allies” have learned – ERBL’s tactics are brutal when your usefulness runs out. TWJ thinks she might have a future in municipal politics; but when she hears from the polls, she’ll be hitting a wall – and that’s when ERBL will just walk away. Below you’ll find the results of our analysis of Tamara Ward Johnson’s Facebook page.

A Thunder Bay shopkeeper, Tamara was running for the Conservative Party there when she repeated some things that she’d heard around town – and the roof fell in on her. Turns out that Tamara doesn’t have a good grasp on the Law, the Constitution, Treaty Rights, and a host of other things that might be important for a politician. For most folks, you can fake it – or fudge it – and usually you can get through a conversation. For a political candidate, shooting off your mouth without checking the facts is deadly. Tamara was tossed out by the Conservatives without so much as a “fare thee well”. Luckily – or unluckily – for Tamara; the Libertarians, a wildly marginal party, was looking for a candidate with some public profile – and Tamara got the nod.

What the Libertarians were looking for was a well-known single-issue candidate like Rob Ford; who could break through the multiple establishment parties and give the Libertarians a seat. So they went with that single flub of Tamara’s – and doubled down on it with a newspaper ad repeating the misinformation. Then ERBL joined in. Below you’ll see the results. ERBL flooded Tamara’s page – and changed the discourse in their characteristic hateful way. Tamara had no idea what was happening:

The change starts slowly. While Tamara has just been kicked out of her party – and everyone is walking away from a political disaster – suddenly she’s had a whole bunch of new friends who just wanted to help.

Unfortunately, very few of her new friends come from Thunder Bay. In fact, they’re really there just to spread ERBL’s ideology,and not to get Tamara elected; a fact that Tamara – a political innocent – hasn’t figured out to this day.

What Tamara doesn’t know is that some of the folks who are pushing her in this new direction for her political career are in fact well-known trolls and marginal, seriously eccentric racists. For example, can you spot the Aryan in the above group of “likes”? The answer is here. In the following, you’ll see how things go: starting with a ERBL member – who regularly pretends to be from Thunder Bay – grabbing hold of the conversation after TWJ posts something.

Pretty soon, others join in: and all don’t even come from Thunder Bay. It’s clear that – although they’re joining in to a discussion about local municipal politics, they are not at all knowledgeable about Thunder Bay; in fact, couldn’t care less about the discussion. The two ERBLites are just talking the way they always talk – laying down their talking points: with no concern about the actual subject of the post; what has been said; or who has been saying it.

This kind of discourse – along with the, uh, interesting graphics, has the effect of driving away the uncommitted – and those who actually know something about the subject you’re talking about. What’s left in the thread is the ERBLites – and those who are easy to convince. In the next posting, you can see how ERBL takes control of the discourse by buffing Tamara’s ego while at the same time laying down their ideology. People from elsewhere, joining in to a discussion of a Thunder Bay event – and, in one case, pretending that they can actually effect things in Thunder Bay.

Please note that Gail Dyer suggests that she’ll be voting “for the first time in [her] life”. Well – not in Thunder Bay: Gail lives in Eastern Ontario. In the meantime, people from Thunder Bay are falling away from a page which is increasingly – well – cranky.

Not included here is the host of times that the ERBLites have literally howled down citizens of Thunder Bay when they’ve suggested any concerns about what people are saying – and the way they are saying it. It’s obvious that ERBL has TWJ’s ear, because – true to ERBL’s technique – Tamara has now made her page “invite only”: which allows her to bar people if they don’t like what she’s saying; have questions about the facts she’s presenting; or don’t like the sentiments of the ERBL commentators. In Tamara’s page these days, discussion and political discourse is at an end: if you don’t agree with Tamara – and ERBL – you’re simply thrown out. But – don’t take it from me! Here’s a nice game card that you can use to analyze Tamara’s – and a few other – pages. Here are the ERBLites – all “friends of Tamara” – who are trying to speak for the people of Thunder Bay:

Let’s have a look at that first graph again: As ERBL takes control of the discourse on TWJ’s page,and Tamara loses her soft support – as well as the support of those who actually want positive change in Thunder Bay – you can see an small number of Thunder Bay residents who are starting to tune into ERBL’s profoundly racist message.

That’s what ERBL is looking for in every Social Media campaign they run: an increase in ERBL numbers – not Tamara’s. And after TWJ’s fantasy hits that electoral wall – when ERBL moves on to their next campaign – they’ll leave TWJ isolated and lost – wondering whatever happened to her reputation. Or – more sadly – wandering the political wilderness as one of ERBL’s shock troops – like Darleen Van RysWyck – with less than 1% of the vote in her last by-election and media descriptions like “crass”, “classless” and “weird”.

But that’s her choice. Lots of folks have tried to warn her; but somehow the stroking of the ERBLites gets her attention more than hard realities: not a good characteristic for someone involved in politics. ERBL learned an important lesson about “political activism” this week.
We thought we’d share it with you.

If you ever want to go to a general discussion about a particular issue in order to derail it, make a scene, and discuss your racist agenda – it’s important that you don’t:

Boast about your plans to make an unproductive scene on Facebook.

2 . Send nasty racist messages to the hosts containing the rant you’re planning to deliver at the event

3. Make a scene when the hosts – after a nice polite conversation – don’t believe you aren’t planning on making a scene.

The evening, after all, was an evening for people under 30; designed specifically to allow people to talk about Tankers and Vancouver in a safe accepting environment. There was input from all kinds of people, with all kinds of opinions – about tankers: pro-tanker, anti-tanker; pro-Oil Sands; anti- Tar Sands.

The only person there to racialize the discussion was Michelle Tittler.

And the City of Vancouver wisely decided to refuse her a platform.

As you can hear in the video, the crowd definitely knew who she was; and they were disgusted by her.

Auntie This is a collective blog written by several people in collaboration and with the support and input of a larger group of people who have been working, formally and informally, to combat racism and hate speech against First Nations people.

The owners of this blog have been in contact with law enforcement about ERBL’s Hate Speech and have provided their full names and contact information to the authorities with their statements.

There have been considerable attacks made by ERBL End Race Based Laws, against another activist blogger: Wanda Probe (aka BeWytchMe Radio),based on Michele Tittler’s (the owner of ERBL) misinformed beliefs that Wanda is the owner of the Auntie This blog. Wanda Probe is NOT a contributor to this blog.

Misinformation, and the willful propagation of it, forms the basis of much of ERBL’s activities. Attempts to dialogue with ERBL about these issues are constantly and consistently blocked. ERLB’s activities were recently included in an academic paper about racism . The academic journal can be found at this link

“Other non-indigenous peoples from different class and political backgrounds, for example Mark Vandermass (2013) and Garry McHale (2013) on their respective webpages, tend to couch their racism in liberalism (Smith 2010), such as equality-as-sameness and rule of law discourses, while ignoring or revising history. Women are also involved in this sort of covert racism, but Michele Tittler (2013) is far more overt. Tittler ignores or selectively uses history while couching her diatribes in entitlement and accountability discourses. Non-indigenous conservative academics (Flanagan 2000; Smith 1996) and journalists (Blatchford 2010; Murphy 2013) couch their ethnocentric (at the very least) views on indigenous peoples in outmoded archaeology, doctrines of liberalism, accountability and private-property discourses to make their cases for assimilation and the backwardness and criminality of indigenous peoples.”

End Race Based Law: How To Run A Hate Group

For the past few weeks we’ve been looking at End Race Based Law’s activities in the past year; its almost supernatural ability to generate hate speech and race-bait those who might think they’ll get a decent hearing from the ERBL crew; and the amazing way an “anti-racist” group can find itself in bed with racists of the most virulent kind; as well as a little bit about how Mickey operates – and the way she’s constructed on-line personas to suit her needs

In this account, we’ll be drilling down into the online activities of Gerry; and the possible motivations behind their amazingly effective hate campaign. Contrary to what’s said on ERBL, there is no indication that Gerry is a legal professional. When looking at his material, it’s quite clear that he has neither the knowledge base – nor the mental habits required – to practice law successfully at any level.

What Gerry seems to be – in fact – is something of an itinerant audio engineer, with no regular gig – perhaps semi-retired – but certainly with no important profile in any of the industries which use audio engineers regularly.

Let’s have a look, once again, at one of his famous “Wall Of Texts”: nothing original outside of his semi-literate EMPHASIS ADDED; no interpretation; and an almost unreadable format. His “Wall Of Texts” are meant to support whatever argument he’s proposing; but are definitely not meant to be read. In fact, they rarely backup his assertions, but merely act as wallpaper to cover his lack of facts – which is critical to his role as ‘brainiac’ of ERBL. Have a look: your first instinct will be to simply call a TLDR; if you persist, you’ll find there’s actually nothing there to support any argument he’s trying to make:

In fact, the purpose of his screed is usually to give ERBL followers an excuse to make some random, uninformed, emotional response – usually derogatory – to his equally uninformed argument. Here’s the typical response from just last week: “create militias”; “the next round of Cowboys and Indians”; “it would be messy”; “needs to be sorted out and really quickly”.

Here are explicit incitements to violence on a public, moderated Facebook page – with the moderator – Gerry Gagnon – clearly present; and violent comments are left to stand in a way that no opposing voice would be allowed. Gerry in fact has nothing to say other than to point out that “Obama” must have something to do with it; and the it’s just more ‘”Indigenous Peoples” nonsense’. All typical “intellectual” discourse for a hate-filled echo chamber.

As we have documented previously, ERBL has built this group based on their infiltration of a whole series of anti-native groups, as well as with smaller “closed groups” they have built to coordinate their activities. They have also been picking up a wide set of different associates. Interestingly, for an ‘anti-racist’ group, their requirements for allies don’t include any kind of ‘anti-racist’ activity: profound negativity about the First Nations seems to be their only criterion for membership.

As we can see, under ERBL leadership, we’ve ended up with many different groups which have been actively working against First Nations interests in the social media. They seem to be actively reaching out to as many people as they can – and actively spreading their influence to as many people as possible.

Here’s one such instance of the ERBL groups out-reach: the group Entitled No More receiving a link to a highly tendentious article from their favourite news source – SunNews.

Sometimes, their enthusiasm for constantly creating new groups and identities has resulted in hilarious mis-steps; like this group which seems to have been created purely for the purpose of bullying people. Is ERBL accidentally describing themselves with complete subconscious clarity?

In the past while, we’ve been using a massive collection of screen-caps from various pages to document ERBL’s activities over the past year. While doing that, we’ve also been tracking down the appearance of many of ERBL’s principals on a variety of people’s friends lists; or – if a particular friends list is blocked – tracking their appearance on people’s news feeds as “likes” or “comments”.

What we’ve found has been fascinating: a clear effort to use social media to advance their racist agenda – as well as to ally themselves with some of the most despicable hate groups in Western Canada.

Here we have Gerry with a combination of “moderately” anti-native people, ERBL principals, and Canadian Taxpayer Federation followers on his friendship list – while he – or “Charlie Tofawders” -appear on the feeds of the viciously anti-native Annette Gionet and Jody Issel; along with the equally vicious “Singfreid VanderKunt” and Wayne Naylor.

And incitement remains the name of the game: here Gerry – easily identified by his faux-journalistic “from the COMMENT section:” – takes up with an extremist call to take up arms with a call to barrage a crown attorney with outrage:

And here’s a good example of the kind of folks that Gerry’s hanging out with on those friends lists and social media sites – salt-of-the-earth racists using everyday slanders along with insults against Native spirituality:

Genocidal sentiments prevail; incitements to violence are common: and all these folks clearly work closely with the “anti-racists” at ERBL:

No amount of hyperbole is too much for these folks. Here, INMR mainstay, Terry Innes, tries to re-invent the concentration camp: ‘for their own “Safety”‘:

All of these folks aren’t just on the group’s main pages – not just visitors – but also on their personal friends lists, closed groups; as well as joining their campaigns on social media sites; in addition to crowding on to various unknowing peoples’ personal pages in order to sway popular sentiment in a dangerously racist direction. As we’ve built our matrix for these people, it becomes clear that they are following a coordinated plan – as ERBL joins with other anti-native groups to spread their particular brand of hate:

Here, for example is a demonstration last year for Wayne Naylor’s “Idle No More Resistance” group; or – alternately – “the Naylor family”. That’s a pretty small turn-out – with identically fabricated signs. Not much of a bang for Mr. Naylor’s buck:

But here’s something even more interesting: the account by the former administrator of INMR of the way that Michele Tittler hijacked his group for her own purposes. You can note his confidence in retaking his group as well as his trust for good ole Gerry – who plays the familiar “Good Cop” role that the INMR thought was theirs. Since then, Naylor has taken over the group – and Del-ciotto is licking his wounds and prospecting in the Similkameen…

Under Naylor – under the tutelage of Tittler – and with the quiet support of Gerry, Idle No More Resistance has turned into something that is very different from Del-ciotto’s vision: constant calls for violence, completely obvious hate speech; self-evident dehumanization of First Nations people.

Occasionally, the whole illusion of there being different groups completely disappears; for example, when the adminstrator of ERBL has a little discussion with her followers in INMR – Terry Innes – and APTNFU – “Rainblow Buttmonky”. You’ll note a complete lack of irony in “Buttmonky” – an associate of the Aryan Nation – commiserating with Tittler about her “Brown Shirt” characterization.

This is the kind of discourse that ERBL is building it’s “political group” on; not petitions, but an amplifying of hatred and prejudice:

But happily, the arrogance of the principals of these groups leaves them telling more about themselves than they actually realize. Here “Singfreid VanderKunt” expresses love for ERBL – and is answered enthusiastically as “Butt”. Rainblow Buttmonkey is a friend of the admins for ERBL – and the prime administrator of the hateful APTNFU; Mickey lets us know that they’re one and the same person.

Here’s how all those connections fall out. It’s worth noting the obvious firewall that both Gerry Gagnon and Wayne Naylor have put up between their main groups; their personal pages – and their widespread and enthusiastic participation with the haters. It’s also worth noting that these concentrations of ERBL and INMR principals with representatives of various hate groups can occur on people’s personal pages who might not be aware of the larger connections at all – but may be influenced by the comments of the coordinated group:

Their influence can be insidious: as simple as “liking” an incitement to violence.

Any excuse can serve as a pretext for a coordinated attack; an amplification of prejudice and hatred: APTNFU starts the roll; ERBL supports it.

And information is shared between the groups. Here APTNFU hands out a wrong address for one of its opponents. Given the backgrounds of the people in APTNFU ( of which; more later) the intent to threaten is quite clear:

The long-term participation of the APTNFU coterie in the activities of both ERBL and INMR presents important questions about the goals of those organizations. The backgrounds of the APTNFU people – and their ultra-racist tendencies – are part of the public record. Their regular interactions with ERBL are clearly troublesome for any legitimate political organization – or legitimate political activist. Note how Gerry Gagnon always seems to be the front man when dealing with these people:

Not that Michele is in any way shy of them. It’s clear they have a regular and friendly relationship – until their eventual – and very public – breakup. Since the break-up, however, Gerry continues to exert his influence and friendship with them to this day: ERBL continues to exert influence even though there has been a public break.

And as the haters move on to new fashions in hate campaign, Michele simply moves on with them: spreading international hate memes; Michele approves and doubles down with some free-form derogation.

It’s all very homey. Quite comfortable if one was unaware of the Aryan connection; the Auschwitz photos; the seriously disturbed imagery which is a constant on some personal pages.

For Gerry, there is apparently no form of hate which would prevent his becoming the friends of a social media activist: “Anti homosexual”; “Anti communist”; “Stop islamization”. As long as they’ll occasionally serve the ERBL anti-native agenda, their other preferences for hate are immaterial.

And the grotesqueness of their opinions are also not important – so long as they’ll join in with the online savaging of an online commentator or the skewing of a comment thread to their own particular goal.

And Arnie’s continuing attempts at humour pretty much solidifies the view of these folks as an ideological cohort. The quiet Gerry Gagnon – with his firewall against the haters – finds himself quite comfortable in their company. Is it simple opportunism – or is it simply that he shares their feelings? You’d never know if you were simply to pay attention to his personal page – or his public statements.

The firewall is clearly there to serve as a camouflage for Gerry’s true activities:

Though he is as easy to bait as the others by folks like Clair Voyant; deeply involved in the APTNFU crew; and a militant extremist.

It’s all good fun: a topless anti-Muslim demonstration; a cheery anti-Muslim poster; a seriously off-colour anti-Native joke. Gerry regularly demonstrates his common feeling with many of these extremists. He positively haunts their personal pages.

Though Michele tries to match his quiet activism, her laser-like concentration on herself leaves her largely oblivious to the actual dialogue taking place.

And what a dialogue it is! Wayne Naylor calling for the PERMANENT removal of Pam Palmater:

Terry Innes calling for “Lethal Force”:

And calling for “Lethal Force” in a public forum while being quite free with his personal information; quite obviously unconcerned with any public authority’s response to his clear hate-speech – or his employer’s for that matter:

These folks are so very comfortable with their public roles:

And very protective of their own rights – while trying to take away the rights of others:

It’s hard to say which of Hatchet’s pictures got thrown off Facebook: his friends clearly can’t understand Facebook’s delicacy:

Likely, though, it’s this one:

Though there’s a good chance it’s this one – and just as clearly, the friends of this person have no problem with his humour.

What’s clear is that ERBL – and Gerry Gagnon – regularly engage with these folks – and have a friendly and collegial relationship with them. When we look again at the matrix, the message is quite clear: there is much more to ERBL than meets the eye; and they seem to have no compunction at all about working in the most devious and back-handed ways.

So let’s look again at ERBL’s unassuming, corporate message to it’s followers – and then to it’s allies and associates. If you want to know what their true agenda is – it’s worth looking at the folks they’re working with; and it’s a shocking crew of extremists.

As previously described in Valentine to Tittler, ERBL’s “political work” has been inconsequential; they – and especially Gerry – have been concentrating on building their ties with the worst racist hate groups in Western Canada. What, then, is the plan for the money that they are so assiduously raising?

End Race Base Law – Incitement and Aryans

END RACE BASED LAW makes a great showing in public of its anti-racist message; its “wanting to help” the First Nations. As we will see in the following, the facts about ERBL brings out a very different view of its mission.

This set of blogs was originally supposed to be a set of five, but has been reduced to a set of four by the recent news that the family of one of the principals of ERBL has completely dissociated themselves from her views and behaviour. Not unexpectedly, she has responded to her family’s attempt to extricate their good name from the hate campaign by building yet another site which slanders and libels her family.

Consequently the order of the blogs will be “ERBL’s Activities“; “Hate Speech and Race-baiting“; “Incitement And Aryans”; and “Mickey and Gerry“

At some point in reading this, you might want to do something – right now!

Here it is: Shut ERBL Down!

For the past several years, ERBL has been trawling Canadian social media, especially sites like SunTV, the CBC, and a variety of political discussion groups. The anodyne name, “End Race Based Law”, seems harmless enough – and the initial messaging is quite harmless – and addresses the concerns of the other person, usually a conservatively minded person: in this case “Put Canadian TV First” – a group dedicated to putting the unpopular SunTV on basic cable – in the interests of patriotism and public funding for free market ideology. As we can see, an attractive picture adds to the sales pitch: young males predominate at ERBL – and there is much talk of those “million dollar legs”. All very approachable

This approach has given ERBL great success. In this cases, they’ve attracted Dayleen Van Ryswyk, a ~~rejected~~ ejected NDP provincial candidate. Dayleen seems to feel that demonstrating an appalling lack of knowledge about Canadian history and the Canadian constitutional arrangements, makes her a perfect candidate for, um, ‘taking it to the next level!”. Dayleen is – interestingly- a koi farmer.

Lack of basic knowledge, however, doesn’t stand in Dayleen’s way; when she has the simple rhetorical tool of derogation to use. In this case, the argument is that First Nations people “need constant supervision, not unlike a teenager or toddler”. The great thing about End Race Based Law is that her racist assertion will not be challenged; and if it is challenged, the challenger will be howled down and probably banned from the page. It’s wonderful to find a place in the world where you can let your most unconsidered thought fly free, safe in the knowledge that you will be applauded and celebrated for your insight. Here, a prime piece of the mundane “kitchen table” racism that will likely ensure that yet another generation of children will grow up with ignorant prejudices about First Nations people.

It’s amazing how you can let your private dreams of being a great rhetorician fly. Here we have a wonderful use of the most grounding hyperbole possible – the calloused hand of the workin’ joe – and the famously soft and unworked hands of Canada’s First Nations, living in luxury – and yet in squalor. “Poor things”!

It’s enough to make you bust a nut! Or give Chief Spence “a slap upside the head”; and don’t worry about handling that Pamela Palmater: this ERBL member is more than a match for her tricky PhD facts!

The rhetoric can burble on for days and days, safe from critical thought; certainly safe from the possibility of being hampered by anything so inconvenient as facts: “How long do WE have to pay”; “responsibilities of being a citizen of this great country”! End Race Based Law should get a conservation grant as a free-range refuge for hyperbole.

But trouble arrives too soon: ignorant bloviation and ahistorical insight soon reaches its nadir in the next example. Here, a follower manages to tick off the Hate Speech boxes of dehumanization; historical falsification; and, um, genocide.

But happily, such views are rarely – if ever – challenged. Followers like the current favourite “Lucky King” are given free vent to channel their most ignorant views about First Nations people; and the most nasty intimations of Race War:

The most ahistorical mythologies can be thrown into the conversation – and not be denied. Joseph Smith must be understandably proud to have his confusion about the Missouri mounds of Cahokia thrust into a new millennium; and the bestial description of First Nations marks a careful student of the Golden Book delivered by the angel Moroni.

Ramstein typifies the typical ERBL fanboi. He’s obviously a little taken with her intelligence, her vivacity – and her “Million Dollar Legs”. Mick obliges: she’s got dance videos available on Youtube so they can enjoy her terpsachordian art. (I will not link to her terpsachordian art: I’ve got a dancer among my exes – and as strained as our relationship may be – some actions are simply dishonourable.)

Charlie Tofawders is a stalwart of End Race Based Law – and has joined their campaigns across the interwebs. Here Charlie complains about the “dumbing down of north american ideals” . Because Indians.

But sometimes, Charlie manages to rouse himself into an analytical state. Here he has the interesting thought that there might be two sides to every issue; that perhaps some middle road could be found.

Watch carefully as his leash is yanked…

Another of the stalwarts of End Race Based Law: Mickey’s ex-husband; possible father of a child she gave up for adoption years ago; and current business partner. In Mickey’s words: “a brainiac”. Below – at the bottom of the page – an example of one of MT’s “aboriginal cyber-bully gang”. Melissa suggests that SunTV might be a poor choice for objective news – in that patented visciously hateful bullying Aboriginal tone.

Gerry’s a good looking fellow, which is a lucky thing since his picture – the only one which seems to exist in all of the interwebs – appears everywhere once you start looking for it. Which is why we will be addressing a whole article to just himself and Mickey. We’ve found a great deal about him: he’s a very interesting man.

Here we find the happy gang all together in one of their favourite instruments: a closed group where they can strategize and chat without the public lending an ear.

Please note the Scottish Scott as well as the always fashionable Claire Voyant.

We’ll be meeting them again.

Here we see how the shell game works: the same principals; a completely different group – “Idle No More Resistance”. Postings, pictures and ideology can be recycled endlessly through these groups: members are unaware of the larger plan – and the part they are playing in it. West Coasters might think of these as “Crab Traps”; East Coasters, “Lobster Pots”; and I can’t think of an analogy for the Prairies and North.

It’s almost as if Gerry was a student of political science and had studied the classical tricks of the Marxist-Leninists: multiple shell organizations with unified leadership; wide-ranging discussions along with strict attention to ideological orthodoxy.

Within the group, the burble goes on: anger; calls for violence; “parasites”; “like feeding a stray animal”! On any given day, you can tick off almost every box in the Hate Speech And Incitement To Violence list. But never mind, our federal government has wisely taken that proviso out of the Human Rights Act. Gone are the days when we were made to feel ashamed and hide our public calls for genocide behind closed doors!

Here’s a fun group: APTNFU. The owner is Rainblow Buttmonkey, who will serve as a hinge for the analysis. Rainblow is awfully shy; doesn’t appear in public much; but can usually be spotted only because he travels a lot with his associate – the red-bearded gentleman.

You’ll notice that we find yet another MT – they breed like rabbits – along with two folks we’ll just pass over very quickly: one can only spend the shortest of times staring into the abyss.

Next, the “Million Dollar Legs” version of Mickey, along with a – uh – Sun TV reporter(?)

It’s obvious our intrepid reporter has merely wandered into the wrong room: nothing to see here, folks!

It’s obvious our red-bearded friend has a hard time becoming comfortable with any particular style of facial hair – but has established quite a comfortable relationship with yet another avatar: Mick’s “Canada-branded” version.

We used to worry about her mental state – so many multiplying personalities! – until we worked out what all those Mickeys could do together. Here, our non-red-bearded friend gives Mick an interesting lesson on an archaic – and seriously discredited – theory of race. Mickey doesn’t bat an eye.

I’m thinking that our wandering friend looks better without his beard. Here, he lays down the ground rules for civil discourse, while Mickey gets excited about the subject at hand: the continuing oppression of people of the dominant culture by the First Nations, the Police, the Supreme Courts, the Government, and the United Nations.

Mickey is having a fine time of it: with Gerry’s help, she has extended her reach into group after group – and drawn the creme de la creme into her private discussion groups. Like a true leader, she surveys the burgeoning population of the groups she’s influencing; giving advice; thinking strategically; and giving counsell. Here she gives some sage advice to one such group – the aptly named APTNFU – on how to attract “the girls” to the sausage fest. As you might remember, the group leader is Rainblow Buttmonkey:

Unfortunately, the administrator of this particular group, our old friend Mr. Buttmonkey, is true to his buttmonkey nature – and rejects Mickey’s sage advice; and her tone. In fact, he’s got a bone – or two – or three – to pick with Mic; and the civil ideologically regimented discourse dissolves.
Mickey throws the greatest denunciation she has in her crowded armory: “you’re the same low life brain drunk abuser they are”: somehow, despite the discord, the reference will be understood.

That’s the great thing about regimented ideologies: they keep everyone on the same page. Ask Mao: he’ll tell you.

So sure, it looks like Mr. Buttmonkey might be a little bit of a misogynist. Certainly “Crazy BatShit Lady” isn’t the kind of language that a gentleman would use.

But those were stressful times: so many round dances and drum circles to denounce; so many expressions of cultural solidarity to whip up fear over! Luckily, as Mickey will later tell us, our leaders like to find their places of peace.

A lovely sunset; the sylvan glade; the immortal words “Arbeit Macht Frei” – “Work Will Make You Free”! But wait – those words sound so familiar: where, I wonder, could they have come from? Some old song?

But no. They don’t come from an old song. They’re from the main gate of Auschwitz: a somewhat sinister moment of nostalgia in Jody’s personal album. Suddenly, Jody’s concern for careful exposition on the sources of the Aryan race begins to make sense,

Too much sense.

Now, it’s important at this point in the show to explain that the international coven – or church – or whatever – of the Aryan Nation has made it clear that our red-bearded friend is not now and never will be a member of the Aryan Nation; that there is no “Saskatchewan Aryan Nations”; and that they have never been approached about the possibility of an official Aryan Nations in Saskatchewan (like most Aryans, they’re *quite* territorial)

And they don’t really care what that Buttmonkey fella’ says about it.

Jesus, up til a few minutes ago, they didn’t even know how to spell Saska~~the~~chewan!

And remember the always well-dressed Clair Voyant? She’s a peripatetic one: always looking for new fields to conquer.

In this case, the Canadian Defence League – proud Canadians (who can spell Saskatchewan) – who are proudly and loudly protecting Saskatchewan against…

…Muslims?

The Canadian Defence League wants you to know that they are completely not a racist organization in any way. They are glad to welcome people of all ethnicities – Hindus; Jew; Europeans; even mixed-blood Iranians! – to the important service of belittling, othering, slandering, and otherwise hate-speeching people based on their religion.

They even have a Division in Saskatchewan!

Hi Jody! We thought we’d lost you! And thanks for putting that “Canadian Defence League: Saskatchewan Division” banner up on your Facebook! Is Mr. Buttmonkey there with you? You betcha! With practically the whole famn damily!

You know what buddy? It’s just like the hockey coaches used to say.

If you hang around the B teams long enough; well, sometime you’re going to get picked up by an A franchise! You betcha!

And Mickey too has moved on to greater things.

After being crushingly rejected in her attempts to make common cause with the very respectable, generous, and helpful Online Hate Prevention Institute – based in Australia – Mickey did what any respectable Anti-Racist Campaigner would do: she squatted on the organization’s name; and made common cause with an Australian woman who was also cyber-squatting yet other organizations in Australia; slandering and threatening in much the same manner as ERBL habitually does.

The Online Hate Prevention institute has written a very good account of their perspective on the whole mess in “Hate Speech in Canada“; detailing Mickey’s contentions with her opponents on OHPI’s long-suffering site.

Still, it’s nice to see that there’s still some interest in Hate Speech in the world since it doesn’t seem to be of much interest here in Canada, now that Section 13 has gone away.

At this point, we’ve seen a great deal of End Race Based Law’s activities in the past year: its activities; its almost supernatural ability to generate hate speech and race-bait those who might think they’ll get a decent hearing from the ERBL crew; and the amazing way an “anti-racist” group can find itself in bed with racists of the most virulent kind.

In our next account, we’ll be looking at the relationship between Gerry and Mickey; and the motivation behind their amazingly effective hate campaign. It’s going to be great! Because we’ve – in the past year – received so much stuff that Mickey thought would never get into the public realm. And our diggers have been digging through court records and town halls from Vancouver to The Pas, Manitoba. We’ve been saving it up; and now can offer it to you! It’s a wonder what a hundred motivated people can do!

Many have been involved in preparing this document; and hopefully it will have some positive effect on public officials once they see the real face of End Race Based Law – and the future of Hate Speech in Canada. We’re very lucky to have a Minister of Justice who is dead set against bullying – and I’m sure will be all over ERBL once he becomes aware of this organization’s hateful influence on Canadian discourse.

Hate Speech has been defined in many different ways:

In Canada, it’s generally defined as language “intended or likely to circulate extreme feelings of opprobrium and enmity against a racialor religious group”.

After the genocide in Rwanda, experts in the field have decided to expand the definitions based on the experience in Rwanda, in Kosovo,and in South Sudan. Added to the list is:

● Dehumanization – portrayal of the group as subhuman or parasites, or “other”; a common trope in encitement to genocide.
● Exclusionary – dividing society into an “us” and a “them”: excluding a group of people from the larger society.
● Pseudo-scientific Racialism – ascribing “less-evolved”characteristics to a particular group.
● Delegitimizing – treating group rights. history and concerns as trivial.
● Denial – denial of known historical crimes against the group
● Incitement – expressing or encouraging the expression of the need for violence against the group

As you will see in this sampling of ERBL’s ideas, the group easily meets all the definitions of hate speech.
So much so, that we will be dedicating a whole separate articles to cases of incitement and the dodgy allies who use it regularly – and are allowed to use it – on the ERBL page.

ERBL’s Hate Speech: surprising ideas to find on an “Anti–Racist” page.

Pseudoscience and Pseudohistory:

“It’s a fact”: End Race Based Law has an ideological system which is monolithic and can not be questioned.

End Race Based Law regularly will “cherry-pick” old and outdated information relating to the theory of 10,000 year old Beringian migration – despite the fact that it has been established that the Bering Strait was impassable – under a mile of ice – at the time when human remains first appear on the paleo-archaeological record in the Americas – long before the supposed migration

That fact aside, it has also been firmly established that “Europeans” hadn’t migrated to Europe at that same time: their ancestors were at that time living in Asia and Africa because of the same glaciation. The most recent discovery has been of a blue eyed, dark skinned individual – straight out of Africa – in Spain who lived there only 7,000 years ago; who has been genetically identified as an ancestor of the Northern Europeans. The fact that First Nations in this hemisphere pre-date the appearance of Europeans in Europe seems to have escaped the ideologically challenged.

Much of the misinformation regarding this European precedence in the Americas come from the historical mis-attribution of the ancient cities of the Tennessee, Missouri and Mississippi watersheds as the product of a “Lost Tribe of Israel” who were then wiped out by a devilish” Race of Ham”- an obviously racist confusion which has been popularized through Mormon doctrine.

“Got historical ignorance?” “Thank a archaic racial theory!”

Dehumanization:

End Race Based Law has a particularly interesting obsession with incest. In their ideology, “it’s a cultural thing”; and particularly attributed to First Nations societies – against all statistics and common sense. This is one of the slanders which they use regularly to race-bait people who have come to their page: the emotional response they elicit by throwing this in peoples’ faces is seen as a victory. It’s pretty interesting that this is one of the first slanders that the Nazis used against the Jewish people; and was a particular obsession of AH, who cannot be named because writing about ERBL is always a minefield of Godwin’s Law avoidance. Historians have pointed to the fact that the parent’s of H were quite closely related – and to the unusually close relationship between AH and his cousin, who eventually committed suicide in the apartment he had bought for her, but this is not to suggest that any other person having the same preoccupations might have the same deep psychological pathologies.

Here ERBL doubles down on a whole series of libels against First Nations people: FAS, alcoholism, abuse, incest, inbreeding –; dehumanizing them and claiming they are parasites in Canada. This trope is very similar to the methodology of the classic antisemitic texts of Europe. A follower happily picks up the tone of abuse at “you people”, a classic racist “othering” formulation.

ERBL speaks on the imagined “cultural tradition” of incest:

The Canadian judiciary. justice ministries – and international human rights organizations – have highlighted the fact that the Canadian justice system has been traditionally destructive to First Nations individuals; so much so, that many initiatives have started to deal with this obvious imbalance in a fundamentally racist system. End Race Based Law seems to have missed those memos. Their explanation? Because Race.

End Race Based Law regularly portrays First Nations as outsiders and invaders. This “othering” is a central aspect of hate speech and genocidal ideation

Denial has become one of the major tropes of hate speech. Historically proven instances of genocidal behaviour are simply dismissed – despite massive volumes of evidence and government records which prove otherwise.

Denial and dehumanization – all in the same paragraph.

In addition to ignoring the whole of Canadian history, here ERBL manages to ignore the whole of European history as well.

End Race Based Law takes on “Small Pox Blanket” – key memory of genocidal behaviour which has appeared in many colonial records – and many peoples’ histories, in many places: “It doesn’t happen to all of you, by all of them” – and therefore it didn’t happen.

Ahistorical contentions – suggesting that First Nations are somehow less evolved; and taking a European claim for democracy, despite the well-known fact that Rousseau, Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin all took inspiration for democratic structures from their knowledge of First Nations’ societies.

End Race Based Law – in the service of race-baiting – ignores the whole of Canada’s constitutional history. The Royal Proclamation of 1763; the Treaties of Friendship; the Treaty of Niagara: the Two Row Wampum; the Constitution of Canada; and numerous Supreme Court findings all agree in the fact that the First Nations are nations. Not so, says ERBL: because.. and follows with the “unevolved” libel

End Race Based Law doubles down on dehumanization.

An example of how End Race Based Law uses hate speech in order to race-bait people who come to her page. An emotional response is what she’s looking for; and it’s hard not to respond emotionally – even at a safe distance from her attack.

Again, Race Based Law uses hate speech to dehumanize people – purely as a method of race-baiting.

End Race Based Law once again uses the “uncivilized” libel to race bait.

End Race Based Law’s favourite proof on any given defamation: “It’s cultural”

A fine example of “othering“: in ERBL’s ideology, there are “Canadians”; and First Nations’ people are “non-Canadian” by definition.

More othering from ERBL: In this, the simple act of standing up for one’s rights is “aggression” – and needs to be excluded from “our streets”, and “our Parliament buildings.” Again, a follower picks up on the abusive tone and established discourse.

End Race Based Law seems to be striving for “race war” thinking in this one: somehow round dances and drumming become profoundly threatening…

End Race Based Law using denial and dehumanization as their standard race-baiting tool.

End Race Based Law’s newest campaign: bolstering a widespread state of denial by attacking attempts to educate people in the facts of their history and their treaty obligations.

A particularly nasty dialogue: race-baiting by portraying First Nations people as sources of disease.

End Race Based Law plays the dehumanization card again, presenting incest and other sexual violence as particularly “cultural” expressions of the First Nation; ignoring the fact that they are common in the dominant culture and sexual violence is commonly directed at First Nations women by people of the dominant culture.

End Race Based Law is a master of dehumanization and denial. The large part that the First Nations played in horticultural innovation and the subsequent European population explosion; the riches torn out of the Americas to enrich Europe; the central part that the First Nations allies played in preserving the territory which became Canada: the massive part that First Nations played in the growth of the country: all are ignored.

End Race Based Law again uses their race war ideation: Idle No More round dances and drumming are “terrorizing” Canada.

ERBL once again touches on a shopping list of their main themes – in the service of race-baiting.
“They belong to you alone and no one else.”

It doesn’t matter who addresses them: ERBL’s racialization of conflict requires that they be race-baited anyway.

Again, ERBL’s discourse is meant purely to provoke: any opposition to their views must be destroyed.

ERBL pulls out the stops in abusing an opponent. Normal discourse in the ERBL world.

An amazing trick: ERBL turns racism on its head: the grass-roots expression of pride and resistance to the government’s attempts to ignore First Nations’ treaty rights become “Hitler”.

ERBL Allies:

The normal discourse on ERBL: othering, racist, typical

First, the exhortation to genocide; second, a means with which to do it; third, a follower asserts her right to denial, while ignoring the comments above. This is common discourse on ERBL: the admins seem to almost never comment on its unsuitability – or remove such hateful statements. In fact, Gerry Gagnon reaffirms the sentiment with his mention of “traitors”.

“Got Genocidal Ideation?” “Thank The Oblivious!”

Here is an astonishing exchange: while on the one hand, ERBL denies the possibility of historical genocidal behaviour; its followers are free to suggest that perhaps the problem is that the genocide was just not thorough enough. Much more of this in our next report.

SHUT ERBL DOWN. There should be no place for hate speech on Facebook.

ERBL (End Race Based Law) is a political organization that wants to change the constitution to remove the race based laws by 2017.

A monumental task, to be sure, so one would assume that ERBL spends a lot of time creating and petitioning the Federal Government, networking, and associating with people and organizations with the skills and knowledge required to accomplish their goal, or creating a business plan. IS ERBL DOING THESE THINGS? NO!!!

WHAT ARE ERBLs ACTIVITIES???

– Cyber-squatting domains with malicious intent
– Creating fake profiles, including using the picture of a deceased person
– Copying and pasting the works of others, with the EMPHASIS CHANGED to match the users’ viewpoint (Assimilation)
– Posting articles that are outdated in an attempt to support their views.
– Associating with racists and white supremacists
– Bullying, harassing and threatening people

“Shut ERBL Down” is a Facebook group of around 100 people who have been watching ERBL, recording its conversations, researching its members – and in some cases reaching out to its former allies. In the course of the past year, we have put together enough material to crowd-source innumerable articles.

Not unexpectedly, she has responded to her family’s attempt to extricate their good name from the hate campaign by building yet another site which slanders and libels her family.

Consequently the order of the blogs will be “ERBL’s Activities“; “Hate Speech and Race-baiting“; “Incitement And Aryans“; and “Mickey and Gerry“

The articles should come out about every second day – and will be available at the “Shut ERBL Down” Facebook page, as well as distributed on twitter via #shuterbldown.

It’s quite clear when you look at ERBL’s activities that the only thing they want to do is target the most disadvantaged group of people in Canada – and take them down one or two more pegs. They also have an astonishing side line in threatening and harassing people – like Tenelle Starr – for no particular reason:

Strange business for an “anti-Racist page”!

Cyber-squatting”

ERBL announcing in June of 2013 that they’d purchased the domain names with the intention of using them for malicious purposes. Many of these domains (reported to total over 100) were the personal names of others – not anyone associated with ERBL. Typically, the sites accessed by these domains contained material slandering those that End Race Based Law deemed to be part of an “Aboriginal Cyber-bully Gang” – though their opponents tend to come from a full spectrum of ethnicities.

ERBL announcing in September 2013 that she’d previously bought Idle No More domains. In fact, she did not purchase them until Sept 23rd. Regardless, she purchased these domains with malicious intent – to point to her website with racist content.

Michele Tittler of ERBL announcing that she was planning on using websites she was cyber-squatting, to spread personal and private information about people who had disagreed with her, in order to malign and damage their reputations. MT used her father’s credit card to purchase over 100 domains, most of them for malicious purposes.

ERBL is explicit about their cyber-squatting campaign and their general policy of harassment

Harassment

ERBL has maintained a low-level campaign of harassment against numerous opponents. Many have been silenced because of her threats against their reputations and their livelihoods; police authorities are largely uninterested.

Here’s one such threat

A single threat is nothing. The fact that this is a repeated pattern – across the country – is significant.

The voraciousness of these campaigns can be seen by the following example:

When ERBL contacted Online Hate Prevention Institute in 2013 trying to claim that ERBL were the victims of racism. OHPI did not accept ERBLs claims as valid. As a result ERBL put OHPI on their enemies list – mounting a campaign of defamation, harassment, and cyber-squatting against them.

When OHPI posted a statement about ERBL’s hate speech, ERBL created a FAKE OHPI page and populated it with material that ERBL claims it received from others.

ERBL then cyber-squatted on OHPI and became to distribute defamation from their racist enemies in Australia:

ERBL declared that anyone who disagreed with them is a racist abusive bully; and that these people were a “cyber-rapist gang”. ERBL decided to post a video with screen capped pictures and defamatory commentary about numerous people who had nothing to do with the shocking pictures. YouTube removed that video on the basis that it violated their “policy prohibiting content designed to harass, bully or threaten.”

So ERBL decided to “reach out” and dialogue with the young girl who had had trouble from her school for displaying an historical fact. (We have screen-caps of the dialogue, but will not publish it to preserve the young girl’s privacy – and any possible police investigation). However, we do have a similar account of ERBL’s attack on the creator of the T-shirt.

After this report, Michele “Canada” Tittler declared that APTN is now officially part of the Aboriginal Cyber-bullying Gang.

ERBL claims they are the victims but over the past year or so, there have been many many instances where ERBL was found to be abusive and in violation of Facebook terms.

Jody Issel is an associate of the Aryan Nation in Saskatchewan – and a regular associate of ERBL.

Rainblow Buttmonkey runs another Hate Page full of supremacist material: APTNFU.

Mr. Buttmonkey was the head of the Aryan organization in Saskatchewan – til the Aryan Nation headquarters found out about it. Apparently the Aryans are deeply prejudiced against Buttmonkeys

Take these two screencaps which show she knowing used a deceased woman’s image and made a fake account named “Susan Winter” to troll the so called “cybergang”. It is time for her to stop pretending to be a victim to her so called supporters and for them to see that she is far from being a victim, she is an aggressor or as CBC stated, a troll. I have placed links of support to have the ERBL page removed as a hate page from Facebook.”

Part 2 of ERBL’s “funny games”: many of her playmates are White Supremacists – and her targets are almost invariably young First Nations women.

ERBL is proud of their ability to bait people.
ERBL then captures emotional responses and use them as proof of bullying.

The most mild objections to ERBL’s rhetoric often result in storms of abusive language:

It’s quite clear from the above account that End Race Based Laws’ claims as a political organization are vastly overstated. Rather that building a constituency; contacting politicians in a meaningful way, and distributing petition – ERBL has merely harassed their perceived opponents while whipping its followers up into greater and greater states inchoate hate. A simple Google search of their so-called petitions will find them all in a state of profound neglect. However, it’s quite notable that ERBL’s greatest efforts – its first priority – is ensuring that their donation site is always on line – and always readily available.

It’s *interesting* when a political organization seems to actually do no actual political work other than a constant reflexive attempt to get into the media and into the headlines. It’s even more interesting when the owner of that group – a so-called “not for profit” – seems to have no other source of income – and seems to concentrate so much energy on soliciting donations from a constantly incited group of quite uninformed followers.

End Race Based Law: How To Report ERBL’s Hate Page

Reporting The Page:

It’s simple: the more reports come in; the more likelihood that Facebook will take a serious look at this page – maybe. Facebook’s policy on these things seems a little – uh – inconsistent.

1) Visit the Page and click the little cog on the top right of the Page. Click “Report Page”.

2) Selection the option “I think it shouldn’t be on Facebook”, then click “Continue”

3) Selection the option “Hate Speech” and a new drop down box will appear

4) Select “Targets a Race or Ethnicity” and click continue

5) On the next screen TICK the box to report it to Facebook.

If it is NOT ticked, the report will cancel

Once you have ticked the box, click “Continue”.

6) A message titled “Thank You” and saying that your report has been received is the end of this process.

After your report is “Reviewed”

Shortly after, you will receive a notice that the report had been reviewed.

If you click it (or navigate to your support dashboard) you will see the review. It will say “This page wasn’t removed” and that “We reviewed the page you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn’t violate our Community Standards.”

This is when you ask your friends report it as well. Please this briefing with them and ask them to help report the hate.

When you do this, please take a moment to explain why this is important. It’s people power that will make the difference.

What we see coming from Facebook is not satisfactory. Hopefully at some point, they’ll start looking at enforcing their own Community Standards.

Reporting A Picture

(Most Postings are in fact Pictures – it’s how ERBL gets away with posting so many gross statements as comments on seemingly innocent pictures)

1) Click on the Picture to go to the Timeline Photo version of the picture”

2) Use your mouse to go to the bottom of the picture, where “Options” will pop up. Click on “Report”

3) In the box that pops up, choose the “I think it shouldn’t be on Facebook” option and click “Continue

4) When asked what’s wrong with this photo, select “Hate speech or symbol”and click “Continue”.

5) On the next page you are given an option to report the image.. Note that the option is NOT ticked by default. We wonder how many reports get dropped because of this..

Make sure you TICK the box, then click “Continue.”

6) You will now get a message that “We’re sorry that you’ve had this experience. We’ll review this photo and if it violates our Community Standards, we’ll remove it.” Click OK and you are done reporting this image.

Reporting A Comment:

1) Click on the “X” on the upper right side of the comment for “Hide”:

2) You will get a prompt that says “This comment has been hidden” Click the “Report” in that prompt:

3) In the box that pops up “Is this comment about you or a friend?”, choose the “Hate speech option and then the type, then click “Continue”

4) The next box is “What You Can Do”. Whatever you do, make sure to tick the “Report to Facebook” box – or there won’t be a report. Then press “Continue.”

5)On the next page you are get a confirmation that Facebook has received your report.

Make sure you press “Okay”
